Strategic alliance with Banco Bci opens opportunities and benefits for the community of Chile Global Ventures

Posted on March 25, 2019

Aiming to become an established link between startups and large companies, the venture capital area of Fundación Chile, ChileGlobal Ventures, signed a strategic alliance with Banco Bci, which will allow the entire community of entrepreneurs, mentors and investors to have access to the new Centro Nace Bci, a place for those starting in the business world to have in one place all the necessary tools to develop their startups.

ChileGlobal Ventures’ managing director, Jamie Riggs, explains that “this alliance aims to generate more opportunities and synergies for our entrepreneurs and our entire community. During our over 40 years of experience, we have realised that success in the venture capital industry is directly related to radical collaboration between its main actors. That is why we seek to involve companies, such as Bci, in the task of turning Chile and Latin America into a pole of entrepreneurship and innovation, helping to generate mutually beneficial and long-term relationships with Chilean and foreign startups.”

This agreement will allow dynamic and traditional entrepreneurs to access the expertise and know-how of Fundación Chile regarding venture capital, through the workshops, talks and personalised advice that will happen at Centro Nace Bci to generate greater opportunities for the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Bci’s general manager, Eugenio Von Chrismar, explains that “at Bci we believe that entrepreneurship is a key factor in achieving the development of the country, in an environment that is radically transforming. For example, fintechs and startups have pushed for great changes in business models thanks to their disruptive innovation capacities. In this context, our new Centro Nace is a place for different enterprises to find all the tools they need to make their projects successful. We hope it is a dynamic and lively place, and we dream of being able to replicate it in the regions where Bci is present.”

New Nace Bci space

Thanks to this new alliance, the entrepreneurs in the ChileGlobal Ventures portfolio will be able to spend time at this space for free, which not only serves as a co-working space, but also as a bank branch, with advice from specialist executives, with whom startups can consult financial services.

The space has more than 1,000 square metres and the capacity to receive more than 100 people working simultaneously. In addition, it offers 11 meeting rooms and an auditorium, capable of accommodating 120 people, where talks, courses, mentoring and advice will be provided by ChileGlobal Ventures and other industry-related institutions.

It also has a multimedia room where entrepreneurs can access different paid services such as a radio and TV studio as well as photoshoots for the creation of advertising material.

The space is open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 6:00pm and it is located at Los Militares 4611, 2nd floor, Las Condes, just steps away from Escuela Militar metro station.
