George Cargill

Civil-industrial engineer with a specialisation in mechanics from Universidad Católica de Chile, with more than 15 years of experience as an entrepreneur in the IT market in Latin America. He was a co-founder and CFO for 13 years of Soluciones Orión, a leading company in Latin America in the business of value-added services for information security and cloud computing.

His main skills are in the area of strategic management, management control and finance, which are a crucial part of any enterprise, new project and innovation. He is also very experienced in business internationalisation, playing an active role on the commercial strategy, administration and setting up of branches throughout the region.

Since 2017 he decided to start a new phase in his career, as an independent investor and entrepreneur, leveraging his previous experience.  Currently he also serves as vice president of ChileGlobal Angels.

I come from a family of entrepreneurs, where these kind of networks did not exist. For this reason, participating in CGA motivates me tremendously, since this type of angel networks play a very important role in the entrepreneurship ecosystem, supporting early stage projects not only in terms of investment, but also with mentoring and management strategies, taking advantage of and transmitting the experience that members have had in this challenging but at the same time comforting path of entrepreneurship.
